Put two Formula 1 drivers in an electric car, and you won't get any miracles. Not even if it's a Ferrari.

Classic Ferrari for sale has published an event video featuring Lewis Hamilton et Charles Leclerc discovering and trying out the brand new Ferrari Luce, the first 100% electric model in the history of the Maranello manufacturer. A carefully calibrated sequence to accompany the launch of this "revolutionary" 1,050-horsepower GT… but which also reveals a slight unease behind the impeccable smiles.

Unveiled on May 26th in Rome, the Ferrari Luce marks a historic departure. Designed with the participation of Jony Ive, the former design guru at Apple, this grand four-door, five-seater GT ushers in a new era for the Prancing Horse. Beneath its undeniably polarizing silhouette lies a 122 kWh battery based on an 800V architecture, powering four independent electric motors. The result: 1,050 horsepower, a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 2,5 seconds, and a top speed of 310 km/h.

Too much is the enemy of good

These figures certainly won't reassure fans of the Prancing Horse, but Ferrari promises to preserve the emotion so dear to the brand. How? Through an "emotional signature" that amplifies the natural frequencies of the electric motors. A way of answering the question that has lingered for years: can you truly replace the soul of a V12?

In the official video, John Elkann delivers the expected institutional speech on "the future" and "innovation," while Lewis Hamilton says he's blown away by the car's performance. Charles Leclerc, on the other hand, appears slumped in his racing seat, his expression betraying more fear than enthusiasm. A driver of Formula 1 His kind of guy, scared by a simple production car? Admit it, that's not believable. Nor is Sir Lewis Hamilton, a purist in love with fine machinery, raving about his driving experience.

Of course, the two drivers are playing their roles as Ferrari ambassadors perfectly. It's corporate, impeccable in its execution. But behind this ultra-controlled communication, something still rings slightly false: as if even at Ferrari, not everyone is entirely ready to definitively turn the page on internal combustion engines.

Why make an ugly car just because it's electric?

Why choose Ferrari to buy a soulless vacuum cleaner? The future for those who will have the opportunity to own a vehicle will be Chinese, won't it?

Honestly… I’ve never seen a Ferrari this… catastrophic, and the design? Do Ferrari’s engineers want to destroy Ferrari?! How is it possible to make such a… piece of junk?! 😎👀👎

They're paid well enough to say that this Ferrari, with its highly disruptive design, is top-notch! Unfortunately, a Tesla Plaid or a Xiaomi Ultra do a better job for much less money...
