Ford has not finished its story with Pikes Peak. And it is with great ambition that the oval manufacturer will tackle the most famous hill climb in the world on June 22.
So we can expect things to go very quickly once again as Ford puts its crown back on the line after the victory acquired last year thanks to Romain Dumas. In 2024, the Gardois climbed the 20 kilometers of climb in 8'53"563 at the wheel of the F-150 Lightning SuperTruck.
In 2023, Romain Dumas had already taken part in the Detroit firm's project at Pikes Peak with the SuperVan 4.2 but was unable to prevent Robin Shute's victory for the third consecutive year on his Wolf TSC‑FS-Honda.
For this new participation, Ford has decided to once again call upon the double winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans but to land with another machine. Thus, Romain Dumas, in search of a 5th victory at Pikes Peak, will have a Ford Mustang Mach-E, derived from the electric demonstrator, in his hands in Colorado.
As a reminder, Romain Dumas holds the record for the fastest climb: 7'57"148 in 2018 with the Volkswagen IDR
