Already assured of a program rally with Alpine Racing in 2023 as a reward for his Junior title in the 2022 Clio Trophy France, Tom Pieri will drive the Clio Rally5, which he knows well, in a discipline that he will discover: the Rallycross.
Indeed, the new Junior winner of the Trophy has been invited to participate in the Dreux Rallycross on October 15 and 16 with a Clio Rally5 in the colors of Rallycross France and its partners.
« It was a great surprise when Alpine Racing contacted me to offer me… Rallycross! To be honest, I know very little about this discipline, but I am very excited at the idea of discovering it, rejoices Tom Pieri. It will be a fun weekend, but as a competitor, pleasure requires a minimum of performance. In any case, I would like to thank Rallycross France and Renault for this superb operation which aims to create a link between the two disciplines and to show all the versatility of the Renault Clio Rally5 which took me to my first national title this season! »
Promote the gateway
President of AFOR, Jean-Jacques Benezet welcomes the commitment of the young rally driver: “In order to always promote our discipline, we have thought about different operations and we are proud that one of them can see the light of day with the help of our partners andAlpine Racing. We are lucky that our formula reserved for young people competes with a car identical to the rally and the circuit. This can provide a bridge between the three disciplines for the drivers, but also for the teams, an essential link in the chessboard. »
