The GCK Motorsport team does not want to be a figure in the world of rally-raid. The subsidiary of the GCK Group (Green Corp Konnection), not content with competing in the 2024 Dakar with a hydrogen vehicle, will stand out even more by entrusting the wheel to Philippe Croizon.
The French adventurer was in fact chosen to be the first driver to participate in the Dakar aboard a car running with an integrated fuel cell. “I am very happy to join this adventure”, rejoiced the one who had already took part in the Dakar in South America in 2017 (49th). " Together we will overcome the impossible by being able to do otherwise. I am proud to take on this challenge, both sporting and technological, in one of the most difficult races in the world. »
I have the joy 😁 and the pride to announce to you that after several months of working with @GCKMotorsport and my partnerships team. I will be the 1st man to participate in the legendary @Dakar in 2024 with the first real hydrogen-powered vehicle#energetic transition #hydrogen #H2 pic.twitter.com/msoOWjUAA9

Philippe Croizon lost all four of his limbs in an accident on March 5, 1994. Hit by a 20-volt power line while he was working on the roof of his house dismantling his television antenna, the native of Châtellerault (Vienna ) had to undergo arm and leg amputations during more than a hundred hours of anesthesia and surgery.
Philippe Croizon used his disability as a strength to overcome obstacles and achieve one after another. His journey commands admiration: in 2010, he swam across the English Channel before connecting the five continents in the same way in 2012.
The President of GCK, Guerlain Chicherit, sees in the arrival of Philippe Croizon an example of incomparable courage, moreover in one of the most difficult car races there is. “It is an immense pride to have Philippe Croizon as a teammate within GCK Motorsport. I've competed in the Dakar enough times to know that it's the toughest race in the world. I therefore remain in awe of Philippe's extraordinary will and exceptional career. Through it, the GCK Group once again demonstrates its values of surpassing and innovation which are at the heart of our industrial project. »
Philippe Croizon will therefore pilot the GCK e-Blast H2, a vehicle presented on the sidelines of the 2022 Dakar in Saudi Arabia. The machine has now entered the testing phase in order to be present on some special stages of the 2023 Dakar before being specially prepared for Philippe Croizon who will participate in the entire race in January 2024 after following a well-defined testing program .
