Sébastien Loeb is back. A little over a month after the disappointment of the Dakar, the Dacia driver is at the start of the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge (February 21-27) with the ambition of moving forward again.
At the wheel of his Sandrider, the Alsatian, who is competing in the entire W2RC season, wants to get his smile back and demonstrate that his new bike allows him to compete at the front, unlike the unfortunate events of the Dakar which led to his relegation.
This Saturday, Sébastien Loeb was able to get back in his Dacia to tackle the prologue of this second round of the campaign. The opportunity for him to get back into shape before turning to the 5 stages and 1175 timed kilometers on the program for the week.
« The prologue was good for us, he smiled after his third place while his teammate Nasser Al-Attiyah set the best time. However, the route is completely different compared to the stages we will have during the race in the coming days because we were dealing with a really hard surface while we will now have mainly dunes.
Apart from that, the feeling in the car was good. Now we will try to have a good stage without making any mistakes. »
