Nasser Al-Attiyah is not the type to ease off between rounds of the world championship. rally-raid (W2RC). Since this series only has five rounds, the winner of the last Dakar Rally fills his free weekends competing in other categories. The Qatari driver will compete in the Carta Rally from April 18th to 24th, traversing Morocco at the wheel of a buggy prepared by MD Rallye Sport, a master of two-wheel drive with its Optimus. Al-Attiyah has already represented MD, notably at the last Baja Hail at the end of January, where he won alongside French navigator Max Delfino.
Delfino will be reunited this time with his usual driver, Simon Vitse, with whom he convincingly won the two-wheel-drive category at the last Dakar Rally. Vitse will be one of Nasser Al-Attiyah's main rivals, who will be joined this time by Fabian Lurquin, the co-driver with whom he triumphed in the last Dakar. This entire team will be supported by MD Rallye Sport and its team manager, Joan Morel, who is delighted to have assembled such a strong field for his team's first participation in one of the most prestigious amateur rallies.
"Nasser's presence is obviously a boost. Above all, we are a family team, made up of passionate people." he explains to us. "I was almost a little frustrated to be doing the Baja Hail and Baja Jordan with a reduced team, two mechanics with me, and now to think that I'm going to enjoy this adventure with Nasser and the whole team, it's going to be a great experience."

A first for MD, which also motivated Mathieu Serradori
The team manager of MD Rallye Sport emphasizes the enjoyment aspect of the event, which is separate from the FIA World Rally-Raid Championship, but he is nevertheless counting on the professionalism of the organizers. The bivouac, the organization, all that stuff, we don't care about. However, we are still quite demanding about the roadbook.Joan Morel explains. "We ask the organization to employ people who know how to do their job. Because, make no mistake, even if we're just going for fun, the drivers really push themselves to go very fast. And it would be too big a risk if everything wasn't properly managed."
Especially since, in addition to Simon Vitse and Nasser Al-Attiyah, a third party is joining the party: Mathieu Serradori, convinced by his rivals to come and participate. "It's a small world. We know Mathieu very well; he's had some great performances over the last five years. When we were talking with Nasser and Dacia about the Carta Rally, we teased Mathieu by telling him to ask his team to make him a buggy so he could come and compete with us. He pestered Century, and finally it's going to happen!" Joan Morel laughs.
Mathieu Serradori will be at the wheel of a Century Racing buggy, attempting to challenge his rivals – and friends – from MD Rallye Sport. A great moment of sport and camaraderie is certainly in store at the Carta Rallye bivouacs, which will pit some big names against each other, all accustomed to competing at the highest level of world rally-raid. For Nasser Al-Attiyah, this will also be another race in a unique season, as it's Dacia's last in rally-raid. According to our sources, the six-time Dakar winner is very close to returning to the track. Toyota For next season, Toby Price has already been replaced by Akima Miura for the Rally-Raid of Portugal, the second round of the World Championship (March 17-22). The Japanese driver will also be partnered with Armand Monleon, the experienced navigator who co-piloted for Toby Price in the 2026 Dakar Rally after winning the title alongside Lucas Moraes in 2025. Following Portugal, the next round will be the Carta Rally in Morocco from April 18-24.
