The Grenoble native made several appearances in the Tour de Corse from 1980 onwards in R5 Turbos before achieving victory in 1986 at the wheel of the Peugeot 205 T16 Evo2. With the forced advent of Gr A in 1987, Saby then experienced several participations on Lancia Deltas of different vintages, from the HF of 1987 to the Integrale 16V of 1991 for its last appearance.
