If the French Grand Prix is no longer on the World Championship calendar Formula 1 Since 2023, the historic version, organized by HVM Racing, the Paul-Ricard Circuit and the French Motor Sport Federation, continues to showcase F1 in France, in all its forms. In front of tens of thousands of spectators, the first races of the weekend took place, but it was above all the "Fast & Famous" moment that captured the attention. Several Grand Prix winners and world champions, including Alain Prost and Jacques Villeneuve, performed in demonstrations at the wheel of legendary cars, such as the McLaren of 1987, or the Ferrari 312 T5 by Gilles Villeneuve.

The one that most caught the eye and made the ears of the spectators present vibrate was undoubtedly the Renault R25 of Fernando Alonso ! Driven by Franck Montagny, the French machine came to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of its world championship title, the last one won by a V10 car. For the occasion, a little Marseillaise was more than appreciated in the stands!

The KENNOL Grand Prix de France Historique is also a race, and seven of them were organized this Saturday. The Masters Legends F1 event, which started with Charles Leclerc, brought together 37 single-seaters from before 1986. André Lotterer, triple winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, was there with a Hesketh ex-James Hunt: "I'm discovering the GPFH; it's a wonderful organization with an exceptional F1 field. At my level, it's an honor and a privilege to drive James Hunt's old Hesketh car there!"

It was Mike Cantillon who won at the wheel of a Williams FW08 driven at the time by Keke Rosberg. For the first time, the legendary Group C cars in Endurance made the trip, with Porsche, Jaguars, Lancias, Spices… a field which notably saw the victory of Marcel Fässler alongside Gérard Lopez, former boss of the Lotus team in Formula 1, ahead of Zak Brown, current boss of McLaren! The American shared a Jaguar XJR-9 with Richard Dean.

Races of F2, F3 and Formula Junior also took place, as well as the 200km, reserved for GTs and Prototypes. Finally, a battle against the clock was in order, with Formula 1 cars from the 90s and 2000s, and other single-seaters sometimes more exotic! Thomas Zeitner set the best time, with a Dallara that raced in GP2 in 2011.
