Last year, the Lancia 037s celebrated during the historic Tour de Corse made a strong impression on the port of Porto-Vecchio. It will certainly be the same with the Renault 5 Turbo. The organizers have indeed decided, with the support of Renault, to showcase the French car that was presented at the Paris Motor Show in 1978. This car has won twice on the island of beauty, in 1982 with Jean Ragnotti and in 1985 in its Maxi version with the same artist at the wheel. The R5 Turbo having been sold in very many copies, it would not be surprising if there were many at the start of the event that will take place this time from Calvi where the finish will also be judged. Calvi will indeed welcome the caravan of rally by deploying all necessary means, explains Marie-Ange Dini, the organizer. The people of Calvados and Balanes will bring their strength and enthusiasm to make this event a real success. We would like to thank the city of Porto-Vecchio, its inhabitants and its traders for the commitment and enthusiasm with which they have participated in the success of the event for ten years. We regret having to temporarily end this series. »

In order to have a chance to be at the start of the 25e edition of this great celebration of the historic rally, you should not miss the opening date for registrations. The form will be filled out from 19 p.m. on Saturday, January 18th… You will have to be extremely quick to hope to be among the 380 places available since the first come, first served. Last year, it only took a few hours… The route imagined by José Andreani will be unveiled in June.
