It was perhaps not the dream start to the week for the IDEC Sport n°28, entered in LMP2 at 24H of Le MansIndeed, the trio André Lotterer-Jamie Chadwick-Mathys Jaubert will only start in 14th position in their category on Saturday, at 16 p.m., after complicated qualifying.

The young French driver confirms that not everything went as planned for the French team: "Since testing, we've had a lot of issues with the car's setup. Problems we hadn't anticipated. I think we took the wrong path from the start. Then, on Wednesday, we had a lot of problems with top speed. We don't really know why, whether it was with our car or the sister car."

But that's not all. "We did very few runs in qualifying mode and with little fuel, which didn't help us in qualifying. Afterwards, I think that on the long runs, we performed quite well.", Jaubert advances.

Jaubert: “The Porsche, Tertre Rouge, Indianapolis, quite complicated bends”

Even though there was a bit of disappointment, the young driver, who is new to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and IDEC Sport quickly switched to the main objective of the weekend. "It's a long race. What's good is that afterward, we were able to focus solely on the long runs. That is, with a full tank of fuel and old tires to try to take them as far as possible. It allows us to see how the car behaves in these conditions." details the tricolor.

Finally, Mathys Jaubert is gradually taking full measure of the event and the Le Mans track. "I'm excited about this circuit which is quite legendary, but quite complicated. I rode it in Porsche Cup and Ligier, but in LMP2 it's something else. The Porsche Esses, Tertre Rouge, Indianapolis, these are quite complicated corners. You have to find your rhythm, little by little, not make any mistakes. For now, that's what we're doing."
