This time, both Alpine saw the checkered flag at the 24H of Le Mans ! Thus, the n°35 and the n°36 took respectively the 10th (one point scored) and the 11th places at the finish of a race finally won by the AF Corse n°83 in front of the Porsche Penske No. 6 and the Ferrari official no. 51.

For the boss of the French team, Philippe Sinault, at the end of this 93rd edition there was both the satisfaction of having finished without any major problems but also the feeling that the two prototypes of the arrowed A could have done better.

"We showed that our cars are capable of lasting 24 hours. We put in a good performance, especially at the end of the race. Without the little problems we had at the beginning, the small mistakes, or the small technical problem on the 36, which we managed rather well, the result could have been different.", assures the manager.

According to Sinault, a “top 5 or 6 was possible” for Alpine

"At the start of the race, nothing happened. We weren't able to seize the opportunity to come back and use our strategy. So we suffered a bit in the first part of the race, only to then step up a notch in terms of performance, especially in the morning and early afternoon this Sunday. It was quite interesting. I'm a little frustrated, but it's good to be frustrated.", assures the boss ofAlpine.

Despite everything, Philippe Sinault is aware that he still needs a little more time to get closer to the best. What we say to ourselves very objectively is that with what we have shown in terms of performance, a top 5 or 6 was possible. But we also say to ourselves that we still have a lot to improve and that we were not yet eligible for victory., concludes the boss of the A fléché.

Without Gounon's blunder in the Hunaudieres bend on Sunday morning around 9am, the 36 would have finished in 8th place, and with a better strategy at the start of the race, yes indeed a 5th place was easily achievable, with 3m28 per lap.

Alpine should have finished in the top five... so disappointment!!!!! They need to change some of the drivers... They have a great Mick Schumacher, but that's not enough... 😎👀💯👀🛞
