Julien Andlauer, contesting the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the Hypercar category with Proton Competition promises to be special…

And it is. This is my seventh time in a row at Le Mans, the seventh with Porsche and the seventh also with Proton, but this time switching from GT to Hypercar. I feel extremely privileged to be here. The weather is good at the moment, I hope we will be competitive with a good car.

You were one of the strong men of the race at Spa-Francorchamps. How good was it for your confidence to achieve this great race before Le Mans?

It's good for confidence, but above all it proves to us that we have the potential to do great things. If we can work the same way and prepare the same way, we can be competitive. This allows us to show the team, and even us drivers, that we are able to show interesting things. We are all motivated for the week.

Do Penske Porsches have an advantage as official cars?

They obviously have a lot more preparation than us. They have a lot of test days, they do a lot of simulators while we are more limited on this subject. We haven't had a single day of testing all season. They also have experience of Le Mans unlike us. It will be necessary to accumulate a lot of information as quickly as possible, validate what works, put aside what does not work. We have the same cars in our hands and it's up to us to use it in a better way than them.
