Up to four Cadillacs entered in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2025?

In addition to the two JOTAs entered in the WEC this year, Cadillac could find itself with four Hypercars at the start of the 24 2025 Hours of Le Mans, as the Wayne Taylor Racing and Action Express Racing teams hope to obtain an invitation from the ACO.

Is Cadillac preparing an armada to attack the 24H of Le Mans 2025? It's quite possible. On the sidelines of the 24 Hours of Daytona, representatives of the Wayne Taylor Racing team – which now operates the Cadillac V-Series.R in IMSA – indicated that Cadillac and General Motors are trying to obtain two invitations for the 93rd edition of the Sarthe event, one for Wayne Taylor Racing and one for Action Express Racing. It should be remembered that Cadillac will already have two cars on the starting grid for the 24 2025 Hours of Le Mans thanks to its commitment to WEC with the Hertz Team JOTA.

"I know that the Cadillac people met Pierre Fillon in Paris last Monday. (during the presentation of the Cadillac JOTA, Editor’s note) and I think they asked for four entries, thus declared Wayne Taylor, boss of the eponymous team, with Sportcars365. Of course, JOTA will have two, because they are committed to the full season. There will be the #31 [of Action Express Racing] and I hope one of our cars will be there.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans, Wayne Taylor's dream

Until now, Cadillac had lined up three V-Series.Rs in the last two editions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with two official cars operated by Chip Ganassi Racing and a "semi-private" entered by Action Express Racing, invited by the ACO thanks to its IMSA titles. With four cars lined up in Hypercar in La Sarthe next June, the Detroit firm would increase its chances of victory, after having secured a podium in 2023.

“That would be really huge. We just got these cars. We have to be careful not to rush and be organized enough and have the knowledge to go there, because I don’t want to embarrass anyone, puts into perspective Wayne Taylor, winner of the 24 1998 Hours of Le Mans in the LM P1 category, but who never entered his team in the Le Mans classic. With a longer term contract, it's good. But we will try everything if we get this invitation, to be there. Our intention is to go there." The team boss also said that a potential entry in the 24 Hours of Le Mans was one of the reasons WTR switched from Acura to Cadillac in IMSA.

If Wayne Taylor Racing obtains the precious sesame to participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2025, the question of the crew will have to be asked. If Wayne Taylor indicates that Ricky Taylor and Filipe Albuquerque, two drivers strongly linked to the South African team, will be "for sure" of the game, the American team will have to take a "difficult choice" between Jordan Taylor and Louis Deletraz to occupy the third and last available place.

I have the impression that Sébastien Bourdais appears to be the big loser in this affair, because he has the capacity to win. It would be relevant for Auto Hebdo to discuss the subject. Would this be a sanction/sheltering?
