In 2025, the Grand Parade of Pilots of the 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 14-15) will celebrate its thirtieth anniversary with its 29th edition. As usual, the traditional parade will take place the day before the start of the race (Friday 13). However, the procession route will be modified this year due to roadworks in the city center of Le Mans.
Since 1995, the Classic Automotive association – made up entirely of volunteers – organizes the Grand Parade of Pilots and allows spectators to glimpse, during a parade, the protagonists before their annual performance on the Sarthe circuit. Having become a major and unmissable event over the years, the event consists of a procession of prestigious cars in which the drivers involved parade and rub shoulders with their supporters.
Festive and friendly, the event welcomes around 200 people to the streets of Le Mans each year and is sponsored by a motorsport personality. After Tom Kristensen and Pierre Fillon in 000, then Yves Courage in 2023, the official voice of the 2024 Hours of Le Mans since 24, Bruno Vandestick, will have the honor in 1993.
A new route due to the works
As a result of the roadworks in Le Mans city center, the parade will follow a different route than in previous editions. Modified, but not revolutionized, the route will still pass through iconic locations such as the Parvis des Jacobins and the Place de la République. However, Rostov-sur-le-Don Avenue, which runs alongside Saint-Julien Cathedral in Le Mans, will not be on the route as it has been rendered inaccessible by roadworks in the city.
Last year, 300 vehicles paraded, including 110 Alpine, in the spotlight at the 2024 edition. As for 2025, "only" 200 vehicles are expected but Classic Automotive, the organizers, have already revealed a non-exhaustive list of brands present. Among them: Chevrolet, Alpine, Lamborghini or even McLarenTo mark the event's thirtieth anniversary, other surprises, yet to be revealed, will be in store for spectators. Enough to perpetuate an increasingly popular event!
