After the Scrutineering and Parade in the streets of downtown Le Mans this Saturday, the first driving sessions on the Sarthe circuit will begin this Sunday. With the race taking place in a week, the various competitors in the event will have the opportunity to drive today during the Test Day. The first session is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 13 p.m., followed by a second from 15:30 p.m. to 18 p.m. A Ligier European Series round will also take place today.
The goal of these six hours of driving: to find their bearings and begin the initial adjustments. The teams will ensure each driver receives optimal track time while fine-tuning their performance. As the surface softens and gains grip, the pace will increase. Rookie drivers will take advantage of this time to get their bearings and must complete ten laps, five of which will be timed, in accordance with the regulations. In short, this highly anticipated day of mandatory free practice will be a day for everyone to take advantage of.
