Hypercar regulations extended long term
Richard Mille announced this at the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) press conference this Friday at Le Mans, the Hypercar category of the WEC is banking on stability. While many manufacturers are gradually entering the category in the coming years, the promise made to the teams has been kept.
WEC calendar renewed for 2026
As in 2025, the WEC calendar will not see any major changes for 2026. Next year, the World ChampionshipEndurance will see the same events take place in a similar order. The only real difference compared to the current season is that the first round in Qatar has been postponed to March due to the dates of Ramadan.

Last year, the ACO had already confirmed that by 2028, the objective was to deploy hydrogen technology in 24H of Le MansThis year, the presence of prototypes powered by this energy was validated, while Toyota reiterated the importance of its presence in this ambitious project.

LMP2 fixed for engines and chassis
For the 2028-2032 period, the rules are evolving in LMP2. While today, four manufacturers supply chassis to the various teams, there will be only two by 2028: Oreca and Ligier. Gibson, however, remains the sole engine supplier in the category. Turbochargers will now be a feature of the evolution of LMP2.
