Norman Nato: “Don’t forget that we are a private team”

Despite Hertz Team JOTA's great start to the season, with a second place in Qatar and a victory at Spa-Francorchamps, Norman Nato prefers to temper expectations around the British team.

Norman Nato: “Don’t forget that we are a private team”

Norman Nato, how do you feel as you approach these 24 Hours of Le Mans ?

I'm super happy to be here, already to be able to relive the Weighing. In recent years with the Formula E, we could not be present. It's really great to be here and to be able to relive that. It's separate.

You will be in the car that won the last race of the WEC to date, in Spa. Does this bring additional pressure?

It’s great, we are second in the championship (among the drivers. Editor’s note)! We are aware that we are going to have to score big points. The race is separate, but we have to think about the championship. By achieving a good result, you find yourself in a good position to play for the top 3 in the championship. The objective will be to optimize what we have without being too greedy. With the level there is now, the general state of mind is to try to prepare as much as possible.

Can the championship play a role at the end of the race for example?

If we can win it, we will. For sure ! This chance may only come once in our lives. We must not forget that we are a private team. It's true that we won at Spa and that we finished second in Qatar, it's easy to put us as favorites, but we are far from that idea. We are a little below in terms of performance, but our strength is that we optimize what we have.
