186 pilots

The grid of 24 Hours of Le Mans will be full again in 2025: at the start of the Sarthe event, next Saturday June 14, there will be 186 drivers who will compete for the final victory for the 93nd edition of the Le Mans double clock tour.

62 cars

The 62 garages of the Sarthe circuit will therefore be occupied for the next 24 Hours of Le Mans. Among the 62 cars, there will be 21 Hypercars (two fewer than in 2024), 17 LM P2 and 24 LMGT3. In Hypercar, there will be four Porsche, four Cadillacs, three FerrariTwo ToyotaTwo Peugeot Two Alpine, two BMWs and two Aston Martin, new arrivals in 2025. The British manufacturer is making its return to the premier category ofEndurance at Le Mans, fourteen years after his last appearance with the Aston Martin AMR-One.

33 nationalities

Drivers from all continents will be present on June 14 and 15 in La Sarthe, since 33 nationalities will be represented for the 24 2025 Hours of Le Mans. As of Friday, March 7, the most represented nations in the provisional entry list are Great Britain (29 drivers), France (22 drivers) and Italy (18 drivers). Small clarification: Timur Boguslavskiy (BMW The Bend Team WRT) does not drive with the Russian license, but under a neutral banner.

In addition, 12 nationalities are represented among the 62 teams (not to be confused with manufacturers!) entered, with in particular 12 cars operated by a French team (including four in Hypercar with Peugeot and Alpine), 12 German and 10 Italian. Note that the Aston Martin Valkyrie race under the American banner with the Heart of Racing team.

5 female drivers

An increase in figure compared to 2024: there will be more women at the start of the 24 2025 Hours of Le Mans. If there were only three last year, there are five in the first list of entries for the Sarthe event, including two French women. We will obviously count on the Iron Dames banner with the trio Célia Martin – Michelle Gatting – Rahel Frey aboard the Porsche 911 GT3 R n°85. In addition to the Iron Dames, Lilou Wadoux will make her return to Le Mans in the LMGT3 category with the Richard Mille AF Corse team. Finally, there will be a driver in LM P2 in the person of Jamie Chadwick, who will discover the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the IDEC Sport team, associated with Genesis Magma Racing.

6 reservists

Beyond the 62 official teams, 6 teams are ready in case of a forfeit or last-minute defection. Among them, we find a Hypercar: Proton Competition could enter a second Porsche 963 with Tristan Vautier, in case of a crew defection. There are also three teams in LM P2 and two in LMGT3.

17 former F1 drivers

Of the 186 drivers present on the entry list, 17 have already had experience in Formula 1 and have competed in at least one Grand Prix in their career. This is the case for Sébastien Bourdais, Will Stevens, Jenson Button, Jack Aitken (Cadillac), Felipe Nasr (Porsche), Kamui Kobayashi, Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley, Nyck de Vries (Toyota), Stoffel Vandoorne, Jean-Éric Vergne, Paul di Resta (Peugeot), Mick Schumacher (Alpine), Antonio Giovinazzi (Ferrari), Robert Kubica (AF Corse) and obviously, Kevin Magnussen (BMW) in Hypercar. In LM P2, André Lotterer (IDEC Sport) will be the only ex-F1 driver entered for this 93rd edition. Jenson Button will also be the only active F1 world champion at Le Mans.

17 former winners at Le Mans

Finally, among the 186 drivers, only 17 have already tasted overall victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans: André Lotterer (2011, 2012, 2014), Loïc duval (2013) Mike conway (2021), Kamui Kobayashi (2021), Jose Maria Lopez (2021), Sébastien Buemi (2018, 2019, 2020 and 2022), Brendon Hartley (2017, 2020 and 2022), Ryō Hirakawa (2022), Neel Jani (2016), Nick Tandy (2015), Earl Bamber (2015 and 2017), Alessandro Pier Guidi (2023), James Calado (2023), Antonio Giovinazzi (2023) as well as the trio Nicklas Nielsen – Antonio Fuoco – Miguel Molina, winners with Ferrari in 2024.

China, Chile, Turkey, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Liechtenstein, Romania, Oman, Norway, Ireland, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Angola... this shows the attractiveness of the 24 Hours of Le Mans around the world, but Neutral? A driver from Putinland, right!

The new government criticizes Europe, they are very happy to come and race on our circuits, especially at Le Mans, with their teams and their drivers. That's my rant.
