After a season in the World ChampionshipEndurance Last year, Patrick Barbier's men will be present on the starting grid of the 94th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, on June 13th and 14th, aboard one of the three Aston Martin Vantage LMGT3 entered this year, with number 59.
Engaged alongside Valentin Hasse Clot in IMSA Sébastien Baud, initially announced for the Van der Steur Racing Aston Martin Vantage in the Endurance Cup, will ultimately not be part of the trio in the #59. While the Annecy native was not selected, Marius Fossard was preferred in the Racing Spirit of Léman Aston Martin.
An ELMS trio for Le Mans
Having moved this year from LMP3 to GT, the runner-up in the Mitjet France Trophy, who will occupy the role of Silver (semi-professional) driver in the crew, shared his emotion on social media: "It's a childhood dream; my grandfather was a huge fan of this race, he would have loved to do it when he was younger… he never had the chance." The Frenchman was also delighted to be able to have this experience within an all-French trio, with whom he already plays in ELMS, a crew he knows well: “Sharing this adventure with Valentin and Clément is exceptional; the three of us are in the ELMS this year, we know each other really well.”he concluded.
Racing Spirit of Léman is opting for stability by retaining its ELMS driver lineup for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. While Clément Mateu and Marius Fossard will be making their debut at the Sarthe circuit, they can rely on the experience of Valentin Hasse Clot, who will be participating in the Le Mans classic for the third time this year. His first stint in 2025, during which he took the lead in the LMGT3 category an hour and a half after the start from 17th position, made a lasting impression.
