Four hours before the start of the 92nd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 62 cars entered in the Sarthe event took part in the traditional 15-minute warm-up, including the Porsche Hertz Team JOTA n°12 which will therefore be able to compete in the Sarthoise classic.

A session that went wrong for the Toyota No. 7. Already relegated to last position of the Hypercars on the grid following the accident in Kamui Kobayashi in qualifying, the GR010 Hybrid suffered an accident after just a few minutes. The Dutchman was configuring the settings of his car on his steering wheel and did not see in front of him the slowdown of Kelvin van der Linde in the No. 78 Lexus of Akkodis ASP, another car from the Japanese group.

The old pilot Alpha Tauri en Formula 1 damaged the front of the Toyota in this accident and returned to his garage, the mechanics immediately starting repairs. Sebastian Bourdais (Cadillac no. 3) also suffered a scare during contact with the No. 07 COOL Racing Oreca 47 driven by Naveen Rao.

Not everyone completed a flying lap, but in terms of time it was Robert Kubica (AF Corse n°83) who set the best time in 3:29.260. The Pole beat Antonio Giovinazzi (Ferrari n°51) by 0.409 seconds and Charles Milesi (Alpine n°35) by 1.843 seconds, while the rain came onto the circuit just after the checkered flag.

The session ended with a funny scene, that of the Peugeot #93 blocked at the exit of the pit lane because of the checkered flag. The mechanics had to take the car back to its garage in the rain.
