The German manufacturer has decided to tighten its squad around eight drivers to share the driving in the two major Endurance championships. Sheldon van der Linde and Dries Vanthoor will thus be entitled to a full-time WEC/IMSA double program. The South African will be associated with Philipp Eng in the #24 and the Belgian with Wittmann in the #25. Due to a conflict of dates between the two championships on the May weekend (Spa-Francorchamps / Laguna Seca), BMW will only drive with duos on the Belgian round.
Kevin Magnussen will join the No. 24 BMW in IMSA for the 24 Hours of Daytona, 12 Hours of Sebring and Petit Le Mans. Marciello will be the fourth driver of this car for the Florida double-circle. Robin Frijns will have the same program as Magnussen in the No. 25, with Rast as backup at Daytona.
