As he has done since the beginning of the weekend, the Italian had to battle with Charles Milesi (Panis Racing n°65) to secure pole position with a lead of just 37 thousandths. Alex Lynn (n°25 Algarve Pro Racing) is relegated to more than two tenths, and will start from third place on the grid. For the cars leading the championship in this LM P2 category, qualifying was not a long, quiet river. Indeed, the n°14 of AO by TF, leader of the championship and driven by Louis Delétraz, will start sixth on the grid, three positions ahead of its main rival, the n°43 of Inter Europol Compétition, at the wheel of which Tom Dillmann took part in qualifying. A red flag came to interrupt the session two minutes from the finish, for a trip into the gravel by Patrick Pilet (Vector Sport n°10).
In LM P2 Pro/Am, qualifying was particularly eventful, but Giorgio Roda still managed to climb to the top of the hierarchy with the #07 Proton Competition Oreca 77. The Italian was three tenths ahead of Rodrigo Sales (Richard Mille by TDS #29) and John Falb (Nielsen Racing #24) by one second. François Perrodo, who can win the category title this weekend in the #83 AF Corse with his teammates Matthieu Vaxivière and Alessio Rovera, had to settle for sixth on the grid. The Frenchman lost control during a fast lap on the first straight at Arrabiata, going into the gravel for a long time and having to return to the pitlane.
A comeback that Daniel Schneider (United Autosports n°21) was unable to make, whose Oreca 07 stopped before the last corner on his return lap at the end of the qualifying session.
In LM P3, Manuel Espirito Santo was the fastest in the No. 320 COOL Racing Ligier JS P17. The Portuguese driver beat Wyatt Brichacek (No. 4 DKR Engineering Duqueine), who crashed on his last attempt, by 0.462 seconds and Kai Askey (No. 88 Inter Europol Competition Ligier) by 0.471 seconds.
