- Despite a chaotic race marked by several Safety Car interventions and a red flag, the #07 Oreca 9 of the Iron Lynx-Proton team won the 4 Hours of Mugello after a perfectly controlled performance by the trio formed by Jonas Ried, Macéo Capietto and Matteo Cairoli. The latter had already put his team on the right track by taking pole position the day before.
- The Italian-German team thus won its first success in prototype, after having enjoyed the glory days of the GTE championship under two different entities (Iron Lynx and Proton Competition).
- Last relay runner, Matteo Cairoli crossed the finish line in first position ahead of the Oreca 07 n°25 of Alex Lynn, Matthias Kaiser and Olli Caldwell of the Algarve Pro Racing team. The Portuguese team equals its best result of the season, already achieved at the 4 Hours of Barcelona in the first round of this year.
- The podium was completed by the Oreca n°34 of Inter Europol Competition of Clément Novalak, Oliver Gray and Luca Ghiotto, which deprived the Panis Racing team (Charles Milesi, Arthur Leclerc, Manuel Maldonado) of the points for third place in its fight for the continental title.
- Fifth, the n°14 of Louis Delétraz, Robert Kubica and Jonny Edgar increases its lead in the championship before the final in Portimão (Portugal). Their pursuers in the standings, namely Tom Dillmann, Vladislav Lomko and Sebastian Alvarez (Inter Europol Competition) only finished in seventh place.
- Nothing is decided in LM P2 Pro-Am either. While the AF Corse team could have been crowned champion by winning at Mugello, the trio François Perrodo, Matthieu Vaxiviere and Alessio Rovera lost big during a collision between the latter and the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 n°63 of the Iron Lynx team.
- This benefits the Richard Mille by TDS team of Mathias Beche, Rodrigo Sales and Grégoire Saucy. The three men won their category in Tuscany and are only two units behind AF Corse.
- In LM P3, Team Virage won with the Ligier JS P320 n°8 of Gillian Henrion, Julien Gerbi and Bernardo Pinheiro.
- In LMGT3, Kessel Racing won its second consecutive victory after Spa-Francorchamps through Takeshi Kimura, Esteban Masson and Daniel Serra.
- The race was marked by the spectacular accident between Rahel Frey (Iron Dames) and Claudio Schiavoni (Proton Competition). In the slipstream of her teammate, the Swiss hit the other Porsche of the Italo-German clan who violently hit the safety rail at the exit of the pit lane. The Italian fortunately escaped unharmed, but the race was interrupted by a red flag. As a result, the end was delayed by 20 minutes.
