The European endurance season is about to start at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, the venue for the Prologue of the...ELMS Monday and Tuesday. As is tradition, the teams will have two days of testing, Monday and Tuesday, with more than fifteen hours of driving on the program to prepare for the 4 Hours of Barcelona, the weekend of which will begin on Friday with free practice.
For Iron Lynx, this event marks the first official test of the year, but also a step up in performance. After a promising first season with Mercedes Benz-AMG in 2025 – punctuated by poles and podiums – the Italian team is stepping up its game by entering two cars in LMGT3.
The #63 Mercedes-AMG will feature a trio blending experience and newcomers. Zimbabwean Ameerh Naran will make his ELMS debut, partnered by reigning champion Rui Andrade, who is also competing in the WEC this season, and by the Brazilian Sérgio Sette Câmara.
Meanwhile, car #62 will compete under the Team Qatar by Iron Lynx banner, symbolizing Qatar's entry into the endurance racing scene. Abdulla Ali Al-Khelaifi will share driving duties with German Julian Hanses and Briton Adam Christodoulou.
« It's a real pleasure to be back on track after this long break and to finally get the season underway. We believe we're in a strong position, even more so than last year when we began our partnership with Mercedes-AMG, and we want to continue building on this positive momentum. We'll be fielding two cars this year in LMGT3 and we feel confident and well-prepared. We're looking forward to supporting these new driver lineups and achieving a solid result that will lay the foundation for the rest of the season. », confides Andrea Piccini, Team Principal and CEO.
With two crews and a now well-established technical base, Iron Lynx approaches this Prologue with confidence and the ambition to confirm its progress from the start of the season.
