Ça bouge dans le domaine sportif du côté de Porsche. La firme de Stuttgart a en effet confirmé ce mercredi le départ de Fritz Enzinger, directeur du département Motorsport depuis 2011. « I look back on what we accomplished together with pride and gratitude, underlines the main person concerned after the formalization of his departure. It was an incredibly intense time.

The development of the LMP1 program, the hat-trick at Le Mans and the world titles with the 919 Hybrid, the titles won with the 911 RSR, our arrival in Formula E and the preparation of our commitment to LMDh from 2023, required courage and concentration from us all. Such successes are always the result of excellent teamwork. My greatest respect and thanks go to everyone who contributed to this, in the cockpit, on the track, in Weissach, Flacht and Zuffenhausen. I also thank the strong Porsche customer teams who, among other successes, achieved overall victories at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring and Spa ».

After 10 years under the tutelage of Fritz Enzinger, the German manufacturer's Motorsport department is preparing to enter a new era. As Porsche's return to Le Mans and Endurance, it is Thomas Laudenbach who takes up the torch. “ I am delighted with the trust given to me and excited by the missions to come, he rejoices. The big goal is to build on the great successes achieved under the leadership of Fritz Enzinger. It's a wonderful challenge ».

Born in Santiago, Chile, Thomas Laudenbach knows the Porsche house very well. A graduate in mechanical engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, he joined the ranks of the German firm in 1998 where he notably developed the engines for the 918 Spyder, 911 RSR, 911 GT3 R and the 911 GT3 Cup until 2013 One of the highlights of his professional career was his involvement in the development of the 8 liter direct injection V3.4 for the Porsche RS Spyder.
