The connection is natural. Racing & Emotion, founded as a tribute to motorsport in the very city that hosts the biggest race in...Endurance of the world for over a century, joins Genesis Magma Racing as an official licensing partner. The collaboration marks the Korean team's first association with a design and lifestyle brand — and it comes just days before its grand debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

In practical terms, the Magma livery that will adorn the two GMR-001 cars at the Circuit de la Sarthe will join the Racing & Emotion collection alongside some of the most famous liveries in the history of the sport. Several pieces will be produced — including the Art Ball Chairs which constitute the signature of the house — with four examples bearing the numbers 17 and 19 of the two cars entered at Le Mans. During the race, Genesis guests will be able to view them in the team's hospitality area.

Benoit Fraylon, founder of Racing & Emotion, sums up the spirit of the partnership: “With Genesis Magma Racing, we have found a shared vision where passion, performance, and design naturally come together. Together, our ambition is to transform the emotion of racing into collectible design objects and works of art, extending the experience beyond the track and infusing the spirit of Genesis Magma Racing into living spaces.”

A shared design philosophy

Beyond the commercial aspect, the partnership is based on a convergence of values between the two entities. Whereas Racing & Emotion draws its inspiration from racing to create design objects, Genesis built the GMR-001 based on its own philosophy of"athletic elegance" — the clean parabolic lines and the dual signature headlights characteristic of all its production models are found in the racing prototype, including for the night phases at Le Mans.

Luc Donckerwolke, creative director of Genesis, assesses the road that still needs to be traveled before the brand fully joins the pantheon of Endurance racing celebrated by Racing & Emotion: “We know we still have a long way to go before we can earn our place within the rich heritage of endurance racing celebrated through the creations of Racing & Emotion, but being featured alongside them is undoubtedly a first step.”

A humility consistent with the approach of a team that has only existed for a few hundred days and is tackling Le Mans for the first time after only two races — including an eighth-place finish at Spa which earned them their first points in the season. WEC.
