12 PM Sebring – H4: Action Express Racing leads, Bourdais offside

The 12 2022 Hours of Sebring got off to a wild start. Several incidents disrupted the proper functioning of the DPi after only four hours of effort. On a dry track and sunshine again the day after the storm which put a premature end to the 1 Miles of WEC, it's the Action Express Racing Cadillac that leads the way.

The crew of n°31 (Pipo Derain-Mike conway-Tristan Nunez) has practically no lead over the Cadillac of Kamui Kobayashi-José Maria Lopez-Mike Rockenfeller following a neutralization to free an Acura NSX stopped on the Florida track.

French Loïc duval (Cadillac, associated with Tristan Vautier and Richard Westbrook) protects its third place ahead of the Chip Ganassi Racing Cadillac driven by Earl Bamber. The New Zealander tries to erase the catastrophic day of the sister car, the n°1 of Renger van der Zander, Ryan Hunter-Reay and Sébastien Bourdais.

From the first lap, the Manceau, who started in pole position, rushed into the pits due to a serious gearbox problem and lost more than 40 laps while repairs were still underway.

However, we had to wait until the third hour mark to witness the first neutralization, caused by a collision involving Juan Pablo Montoya (DragonSpeed). The two-time winner of the Indianapolis 500 collided and was unable to avoid the Muelhner Motorsport LM P3 which skidded and the Paul Miller Racing BMW. The Colombian, then leader of the LM P2 class, had to retire.

En GTLM, Corvette n’a engagé qu’une C8.R mais devance quand même la nouvelle BMW M4 GT3 de Marco Wittmann grâce à Jordan Taylor. Vainqueur aux 24 Heures de Daytona, Mathieu Jaminet (Porsche) est 5e mais reste dans le match.
