12 Hours of Sebring – Qualifying: Sébastien Bourdais and Cadillac in pole position

After Nicolas Lapierre in the WEC, another Frenchman distinguished himself in qualifying in Florida. Sébastien Bourdais has indeed taken pole position for the 12 Hours of Sebring in IMSA.

Dominant during Free Practice, the Cadillacs confirmed during qualifying with a double: Sébastien Bourdais indeed signed the pole position in 1:45.166 with the #01 Cadillac Racing ahead of Pipo Derani in the #31 Whelen Engineering and Ricky Taylor for the #10 Acura DPi from Wayne Taylor Racing. Tristan Vautier, pole sitter at the 24 Hours of Daytona in January, made a mistake at the wheel of the No. 5 JDC Miller Motorsports Cadillac DPi.

Ben Keating set the fastest lap in LM P2 with the No. 07 Oreca 52 in 1:46.249. In the LM P3, the best time goes to Gar Robinson in the No. 320 Riley Motorsports Ligier JS P74, set in the final laps of the session.

The GT session smiled on Ferrari with the best time for Daniel Serra for Risi Competizione in 1:59.414. A first place obtained by a breath in front of Mirko Bortolotti in the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 nº63 by only 0.017 seconds. The first GTD completes the podium with Zacharie Robichon on the Porsche 911 GT3R nº16 from Wright Motorsports.
