Leading since the previous Full Course Yellow, the No. 10 Acura of Wayne Taylor with Andretti Autosport lost its advantage during the following race neutralization. While Filipe Albuquerque had resisted the return of Tom Blomqvist (Cadillac n°31), the prototype operated by Action Express Racing took advantage of a new FCY to take the advantage during a simultaneous stop of the two cars. Pipo Derani is now in the lead ahead of Ricky Taylor and Felipe Nasr (Porsche #7).

Passing through the stands, Sébastien's No. 01 Cadillac Bourdais, Renger van der Zande and Scott Dixon had contact with the No. 12 Lexus of Vasser Sullivan. Both cars are able to continue.

The No. 99 AO Racing Oreca in which Frenchman Paul-Loup Chatin is entered caused a Full Course Yellow when PJ Hyett went off the track, hitting the wall at turn 11. Inter Europol by PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports leads the category.
