Acuras are still the fastest at Daytona. After the Roar where Tom Blomqvist took pole position at the wheel of the Meyer Shank Racing ARX-06, it was Filipe Albuquerque who established the reference time for Free Practice 1 of the 24 Hours of Daytona this Thursday with a lap in 1:35.366.

The Portuguese beat Earl Bamber in the No. 2 Cadillac V-LMDh by 0.266 seconds. The pole sitter completed the podium 0.299 seconds behind the second Acura in a session marked by no less than four red flags.

The #3 Lamborghini Huracán GT2 Evo63 from Iron Lynx, that of Romain Grosjean, also caused an interruption of the session by stopping at the side of the track while Andrea Caldarelli was at the wheel. Despite everything, they took fifth place in their category. Mercedes is still the fastest manufacturer in GTD thanks to Lucas Auer in the #57 Winward Racing (1:46.763) before putting the car into the wall at turn 2 a few minutes later.

On the French side, Paul-Loup Chatin distinguished himself by setting the best lap in LM P2 in 1:38.302 in the No. 52 Oreca of PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports.
