50 entered at Daytona, Ericsson at Ganassi

A few days after the confirmation of the fifty entered in the Roar, theIMSA has revealed the identity of all the crews expected at these days of testing and consequently at the 24 Hours of Daytona.

Back in DPi with Cadillac, Chip Ganassi Racing will be present at the 24 Hours of Daytona with its entire contingent. Renger van der Zande and Scott Dixon will indeed be there, as will Marcus Ericsson, who is preparing to play his first double round in Florida. Freshly arrived from the Formula 1, Kevin Magnussen will also make its baptism of fire in this opening round of the IMSA season.

Still in DPi, the French trio Tristan Vautier, Sébastien Bourdais et Loïc duval will defend the colors of JDC-Miller MotorSports. The Wayne Taylor Racing Acura ARX-05 will be driven by Filipe Albuquerque, Ricky Taylor, Alexander Red et Helio Castroneves. A total of seven cars will fight for the DPi win this year.

In LMP2, Canadian John Farano was associated with Frenchmen Gabriel Aubry, Matthieu Vaxiviere and Timothé Buret within Tower Motorsport. Eight Oreca 07s, a Ligier and a Dallara are expected on the starting grid.

This year, the GTLM category is very bare since only six cars are expected on the Florida track. Corvette will enter two C8.Rs while Team RLL will participate with two BMW M8 GTEs. Risi Competizione and WeatherTech Racing are respectively expected with a Ferrari 488 GTE et une Porsche 911 RSR – 19.

It is in GTD that these 24 Hours of Daytona are likely to be lively with no less than 20 entries.

Barring a last minute change or a Covid case, these 50 crews will be on the starting grid for the 24 2021 Hours of Daytona (January 30-31).
