6 Hours of Watkins Glen: Tom Blomqvist takes pole position

Tom Blomqvist secured pole position for the 6 Hours of Watkins Glen in 1'29"580. The two Acuras will start on the front row from 16:30 p.m.

At the 6 Hours of Watkins Glen, the Acuras are currently unstoppable. For the resumption ofIMSA after the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Tom Blomqvist managed to secure pole position. Very fast during testing, the Meyer Shank Racing team driver beat the competition in 1'29″580. In the front row, another Acura will be found alongside him with the second best time of Filipe Albuquerque. 

Behind the two Acuras, we find the two Cadillac Racing cars of Sébastien Bourdais and Earl Bamber. The Habs fail 4 tenths from pole position. The two other French people, Olivier Pla and Tristan Vautier complete the top 6. 

After his success in GTE Am at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Ben Keating remains on cloud nine. In the LM P2 category, it was the American driver who managed to secure pole position. He is just a thousandth ahead of the other Oreca from the PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports team.

For the LM P3 category, Nico Varonne was the fastest at Watkins Glen. At the wheel of his Duqueine D08, the Argentinian driver is ahead of the Ligier JS P320s. And finally in GTD Pro, Connor De Phillippi took pole position ahead of theAston Martin Vantage GT3. Stevan MacAleer set the best time in 1'45″077 in GTD. The start of the race is scheduled for 16:30 p.m. French time.
