Action Express will only enter one car in 2020

If two Cadillac DPi-VRs were still operated by Action Express Racing in 2019, only one car should defend the interests of the American team in 2020 on the scene IMSA, a first since 2011.

This was confirmed by the team's management, a Cadillac DPi-VR, badged No. 31 with the support of Whelen Engineering, being entrusted to the duo Felipe Nasr – Pipo Derani, still in the running for the title this weekend in Petit Le Mans (Georgia) against the duo Dane Cameron – Juan Pablo Montoya (Acura Team Penske).

“We worked for several months to find a way to stay with two cars, says owner Bob Johnson. To be fair to everyone involved, we had to point out that the No. 31 – Whelen Engineering Racing Cadillac will likely be the only one run by Action Express Racing in 2020.

We would like to thank all of our fans and each of our drivers, partners and team members who have supported our two-car commitment. » Action Express notably won the Drivers and Teams titles in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018, with Felipe Nasr and Eric Curran winning last year.

Alongside the Derani – Nasr duo, other drivers have yet to be confirmed to compete in endurance events, notably the 24 Hours of Daytona which will open the 2020 season in January.
