Acura and BMW victorious at Road Atlanta

Authors of pole position in the DPi category, Helio Castroneves and Rick Taylor managed to cross the finish line first after a crazy race.

Falling one lap from the lead after two penalties at the start of the race for excessive speed and failure to respect a red light in the pit lane, the Brazilian and the American made an incredible comeback.

With just over an hour to go before the end of the race at Road Atlanta, the two Acura drivers caught up and took control of the race. At the end of the race, the collision between Juan Pablo Montoya (Acura) and Toni Vilander (Team Corsa) offered a final two-lap sprint. A sprint in which Helio Castroneves held on against pressure from Harry Tincknell (Mazda). The trio Felipe Nasr-Luis Felipe Derani-Felipe Alburquerque completes the podium.

In the GTLM category, the BMW No. 25 won. In the hands of Connor De Phillippi and Bruno Spengler, Team RLL's M8 GTE took the lead at mid-race before settling there for good after the final wave of pit stops at just over 50 minutes. of the checkered flag.

At the finish, the De Philippi/Spengler duo beat the Corvette of Tommy Milner and Oliver Gavin, and the No. 8 BMW M24 GTE driven by Jesse Krohn and John Edwards.
