Acura Team Penske dominates Road America qualifying

Ricky taylor maintained Acura Team Penske at the forefront during the qualifying session at Road America (Wisconsin), for the event counting towards the championship IMSA this week-end.

The driver of the #05 ARX-7, already dominating in EL1 ahead of Dane Cameron's sister car #6, before the latter responded in EL2, completed the best lap of the qualifying session in 1'49″361, 0″318 ahead of Cameron.

The gaps are significant since Harry Tincknell (Mazda RT24-P n°55 – Mazda Motorsports) fails by more than half a second, while the second Mazda n°77 of Tristan Nunez is more than a second from pole.

You have to look in 6th position to see the No. 5 Cadillac DPi-VR – JDC-Miller of Joao Barbosa and Sébastien Bourdais when the team's second car, entrusted to Tristan Vautier and Chris Miller, finished 8th ahead of the first Oreca 07 LM P2 of the Kelly – Trummer duo (PR1/Mathiasen)

En GTLM, Laurens Vanthoor a signé le tour idéal pour Porsche North America, puisque le Belge décroche la pole en 2’00″590, and places the No. 911 912 RSR at the forefront of the category ahead of the two No. 8 Corvette C3.Rs of Garcia – Taylor and No. 4 of Milner – Gavin.

Frédéric Makowiecki, lined up in the second Porsche 911 RSR n°911 with Nick Tandy, finished in 6th position in GTLM behind the two BMW M8 – Team RLL.

The Lexus RC F GT3 – AIM Vasser Sullivan hit hard again in GTD, with a double for the #14 of Aaron Telitz and Jack Hawksworth and #12 of Frankie Montecalvo – Townsend Bell.
