Cadillac has announced the two drivers who will strengthen its crews for the first of the 2023 season in IMSA : the 24 Hours of Datyona (January 28-29). Jack Aitken and Scott Dixon will join the Detroit (Michigan) team for the Florida double-lap. Aitken will co-drive the Action Express Racing-prepared Cadillac V-LMDh with 2021 IMSA champion Pipo Derani and Alexander Sims.

“The prospect of working with Action Express and Cadillac on the V-LMDh program appealed to me from the moment it became a possibility and working to make it a reality over the past few weeks has only strengthened my opinion that we will tackle a fantastic calendar of events with an extremely motivated and high level crew, Aitken said. It will be a real pleasure to represent a brand like Cadillac at a time when the world of endurance is entering what many are calling a golden age of sports car racing. I can't wait to start working with everyone, including my teammates Pipo and Alex, who have already been very welcoming. »

Dixon, six times champion IndyCar and winner of the Indianapolis 500 in 2008, will support Sébastien Bourdais and Renger van der Zande in Florida after testing the prototype for the first time last month at Sebring: “The power is good and the ride is really nice, which is what you would expect from Cadillac. Honestly, the car seems really reliable. There are a lot of new systems to get used to and it's a big car, but fun to drive. »
