This year, the DeltaWing leaves its black dress where the Nissan logo predominated for a silver color following the withdrawal of the former engine partner. Now powered by an Elan engine, the hybrid prototype that caused a sensation in recent 24 Hours of Le Mans before taking fifth place at Road Atlanta will be back this year at the 12 Hours of Sebring. The tires adopted will be Bridgestone rubbers which will replace the Michelins.
Following the surprising performances of the DeltaWIng achieved last year, the organizers of the ALMS decided to classify it in the LMP1 category. Olivier Pla and Andy Meyrick will discover the car for the first event of the season and the prototype could still return to several events this year. The merger between Grand-Am and ALMS should ensure a future for it.
