ALMS – The DeltaWing coupe will debut in Austin

Good week for DeltaWing Racing Cars. After a very convincing performance last Sunday at Road America, it was announced yesterday that this car was now offered for sale to interested customers. Three coupes built by Élan Motorsports Technologies, which will be able to compete next year in the USCR (United Sportscar Racing, championship resulting from the merger between the ALMS and Grand-Am), will be available.

Designed by Ben Bowlby, this racing car from another era occupied last year the 24 Hours of Le Mans the 56th stand devoted to a car offering avant-garde technology. The announced objective was to consume half as much fuel and tires as the other prototypes while achieving performance that matches the latter.

After being postponed, the competition debut of the Coupé version is now scheduled for September 21, at the Circuit of the Americas (Austin), on the occasion of the antepenultimate round of the American Le Mans Series.
