ALMS – Magnussen and Garcia strike a double blow

A few laps from the goal, very clever being the one who could put forward the name of the winner of the GT category as the No. 3 Corvette, the No. 93 Viper and the No. 56 BMW were running in close formation. Finally, the first named with respectively 0”86 and 4”4 ahead of her two rivals. Jan Magnussen and Antonio Garcia performed flawlessly after taking the reins of the race relatively early. Second in the championship upon arriving in Austin, the Dane and his Spanish sidekick leave the Circuit of the Americas at the top of the general classification in the GT category, taking advantage of the retirement due to mechanical problems of Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner, their teammates. The podium is very well made since it was completed in the end by the Viper GTS-R of Kuno Wittmer-Jonathan Bomarito and the No. 4 BMW Z56 GTE of Jonathan Edwards-Dirk Müller.

The overall victory of the HPD ARX-03a Muscle Milk Pickett Racing is anecdotal. Facing a Dyson Racing Lola entrusted to a duo of gentlemen, Klaus Graf and Lucas Luhr, already assured of taking the crown, won their seventh victory of the season. In LM P2, Level 5 Motorsports scored a double, with Scott Tucker and Ryan Briscoe finally taking the lead in the #03 HPD ARX-551b. With its Marcelli-Cunningham duo, BAR 1 Motorsports triumphs in LM PC. TRG does the same in GTC thanks to the Keating-Faulkner pair.

The next and penultimate round of the season will be held on October 5 at Virginia International Raceway.
