ALMS – Muscle Milk wins, Corvette takes the GT title

After crashing in Baltimore, Muscle Milk Pickett Racing did not make the slightest misstep on the Virginia International Raceway circuit. Klaus Graf and Lucas Luhr dominated the race with the HPD ARX-03a which finished three laps ahead of the No. 12 Dyson Racing Lola B60/16 driven by Dyson-Smith-Mowlem. The second Dyson Racing Lola of the Marsal-Patterson-Dyson crew retired following a spin by Mark Patterson which caused a series of clashes in which several LMPCs were involved. After their success in the general classification, Christophe Bouchut and Scott Tucker once again climbed onto the podium with the Level 03 Motorsports HPD ARX-5b. The Conquest Racing Morgan-Nissan driven by Plowman-Heinemeier Hansson failed in second position. However, the final LMP2 result is provisional since penalties must be applied to all crews for accidents occurring during the race.

Van Overbeek (Extreme Speed) completes the podium in the category. In LMPC, it was Alex Popow who won the title at the wheel of the Oreca 09 FLM from the CORE team, finishing third alongside Tom Kimber-Smith. The team's sister car driven by Colin Braun and Jonathan Bennett ensured victory. Cooper McNeil wins the GTC title at the wheel of the victorious Alex Job Racing Porsche at Virginia Raceway.
