ALMS – Rebellion takes the lead at Petit Le Mans

Rebellion Racing lost contact with Muscle Milk Pickett Racing following contact by Neel Jani with the Mathiasen Motorsports LMPC which was coming out of the pits. The Swiss was disturbed by the DeltaWing which he was about to take a turn on. Although the impact was not fatal for the two cars involved, the Lola B12/60 had to return to the pits to change its front hood which preceded a stop & go to penalize the Swiss driver's error. As a result, the HPD ARX-03a driven by Romain Dumas was one lap ahead of the Swiss team's car before returning to the pits. The reigning champion team inspected the LMP1 engine before returning it to the garage.

In LMP2, Extreme Speed Motorsports holds off Level 5 Motorsports with the #01 of Scott Sharp which has a dozen seconds ahead of the #552 of Peter Dumbreck. Ryan Briscoe's sister car No. 551 completes the class lead trifecta. 8Star Motorsports leads the LMPC with the #09 FLM25 currently driven by Sean Rayhall ahead of the #8 BAR1 Motorsports driven by Kyle Marcelli.

The leader of the race is constantly evolving in GT. There Porsche 911 GT3 RSR of Team Falken led by Nick Tandy provisionally occupies first place ahead of the BMW Z4 GTE of Bill Auberlen and the Ferrari 458 Italia from the Risi Competizione by Robin Liddell. The Viper GTS-Rs fell in the standings, with the #93 of Bomarito-Wittmer-Kendall hitting the tire wall following contact with the LMP2 of Ryan Briscoe. In GTC, it is the Flying Lizard Motorsports Porsche currently driven by Nelson Canache Jr which leads the way.
