Bourdais replaces Hand at Ford Chip Ganassi in Long Beach

The weekend in Long Beach, California will be busy for Sébastien Bourdais. The Frenchman, holder of Dale Coyne Racing with Vasser-Sullivan – Honda will not simply compete in the event car on the urban track south of Los Angeles, but will also compete within the GTLM peloton in IMSA.

Le Manceau was recalled by Ford Chip Ganassi to replace Joey Hand, ill (flu) and unavailable, alongside Dirk Muller. Bourdais will therefore find his teammate from the long races in IMSA, who took second place at Sebring last month.

« First of all, I hope Joey gets well soon, says Bourdais. The team obviously needs him. I'm going to be a bit of a super fill-in here this weekend in the Ford GT, but I'm looking forward to it.

It's a great place, but I've never driven anything here other than a single seater. IndyCar or Champ Car. But you're never too old to learn new things. »

Bourdais, Hand and Muller are third in the GTLM Drivers' standings after Daytona and Sebring, and will try to give the Ford GT its first success at Long Beach.
