Bowmanville – Qualifying: Acura locks the first row, Blomqvist on pole

In Bowmanville, scene of the eighth round of the seasonIMSA, the Acura have locked down the first row this Sunday with Tom Blomqvist ahead of Ricky Taylor. Only 0.068 seconds separated the No. 60 of Meyer Shank Racing from the No. 10 of Wayne Taylor Racing at the end of this qualifying session, held this Saturday in Canada. The two cars had already achieved a one-two finish during Free Practice 2. Tristan Vautier moved into third position with the first Cadillac DPi, that of JDC Miller-MotorSports, 0.501 seconds behind the best time.

In the only other prototype category entered, the LM P3, it was Jarett Andretti who set the fastest lap in the No. 320 Andretti Autosport Ligier J P36. Aldo's grandson beat Gar Robinson in another Ligier, the No. 74 from Riley Motorsports, by just 0.072 seconds.

Mathieu Jaminet s’est distingué en signant le meilleur temps de toutes les GT sur le tracé de Bowmanville. Le Français a bouclé son meilleur tour en 1:15.468 pour placer la Porsche 911 GT3R n°9 de Pfaff Motorsports en pole position de la catégorie GTD Pro. Il a devancé la première GTD, la Lexus RC F GT3 n°12 de VasserSullivan pilotée par Frankie Montecalvo de 0.165 seconde seulement.
