Arriving from LM P3 in the off-season, Colin Braun quickly adapted to the new GTPs. The Texan was the fastest of the Roar's five Free Practice sessions before Daytona, with a best time of 1:35.038. The five best times of the weekend were also signed by the Acura ARX-06s of Meyer Shank Racing and Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Autosport.

It was especially the team based in Pataskala (Ohio) which stood out by dominating the first four driving sessions, while the fifth, truncated by bad weather, fell into the hands of Porsche and Nick Tandy.

« Obviously I'm really proud of the team, says Colin Braun. I know everyone says this, but more than ever in the era of GTP cars, this is such a great effort from the Meyer Shank team, the HPD guys (Honda Performance Development. Ed.) and Acura. There was a lot of work during the offseason. »

The 34-year-old American was completely at ease in the Japanese prototype operated by the defending team in Florida. “ I am VI'm very happy with the car at the moment, continues the pilot. We have good speed and we've just been working on our program to keep ticking boxes as we get closer to the end of the time we have to prepare for the big race. »

Regarding the domination of Meyer Shank Racing during four of the five test sessions, Colin Braun himself admits that he did not expect such a performance. “ We didn't expect that, given where everyone is and all the different programs manufacturers have followed to get there. We really didn't know how it was going to turn out, so we're very happy with it. Even if it means having tests, you might as well be the fastest. »

Join us from 19:25 p.m. (French time) this Sunday to see if Meyer Shank Racing will confirm this trend during the qualifying session for the 24 Hours of Daytona.
