Conway withdraws from the 24 Hours of Daytona

You can withdraw from a race due to injury or license suspension. Mike conway does things differently. The Briton will not participate in the 24 2019 Hours of Daytona (January 26-27) as initially planned with Action Express Racing due toa delay which prevents him from coming to Florida.

“We had Mike on the phone, he was delayed and is still at home in England », explained Cadillac DPi-VR Team Manager Gary Nelson. A hard blow for Action Express Racing, the defending team.

“We are very disappointed not to have Mike in the prototype. Because of the delay, it became apparent that he could not make the trip to Daytona in time for the final test session.

We all decided together that it was best for car number 5 to go with Christian Fittipaldi, Joao Barbosa and Fillipe Albuquerque (the winners in 2018. Editor’s note). We will continue to work with Mike on other events in the endurance season”, continued Gary Nelson.

With the winning trio of the 2018 edition, the Cadillac DPi-VR will try to retain its crown despite a poor qualifying session. She will start at the back of the prototype peloton due to mechanical damage during testing.
