Core Autosport in DPi with the French

Surprise of the 2018 seasonIMSA SportsCar Championship, the Core Autosport team recently revealed that it would have to confine itself to supporting roles next year, forced to remain in LM P2, a category that could no longer, on paper, play for the overall victory.

The American team finally made an about-face after having managed to obtain at the last moment a Nissan Onroak DPi, a car which notably won Petit Le Mans and the 12 Hours of Sebring, in 2017 and 2018 respectively in the hands of ESM. “ Since IMSA announced the split of its Prototype class, our goal was to go to DPi, underlines Core director Morgan Brady. If we were heading towards a 2019 campaign in LM P2, in the space of a few days the possibility of driving a Nissan DPi became a reality. We couldn't pass up this opportunity to compete for overall victories. »

On the crew side, no changes to note. Jon Bennett and Colin Braun will compete for the entire season and will be supported in the rounds of the North American Endurance Cup by Romain Dumas. Loïc duval will lend them a hand at the 24 Hours of Daytona (January 26-27).
