Derani and Nasr return to Action Express Racing

Action Express Racing will not change one of its winning formulas in IMSA. Entrusted to the duo Pipo Derani – Felipe Nasr, the No. 31 Cadillac DPi-VR, clad in its Whelen red livery, is more than ever in the match for the title against the Acura Team Penske duo composed of Juan Pablo Montoya and Dane Cameron.

Winners at Sebring, with the reinforcement of Eric Curran, and second at Daytona at the start of the year, Derani and Nasr will be able to extend their common adventure with the American team beyond this 2019 campaign, after having been confirmed for 2020, always with the support of Whelen.

“We have worked very hard to have a strong team and being able to capitalize on what we have learned each year is very important, underlines Gary Nelson, boss of Action Express Racing. So I'm delighted to see Pipo and Felipe return for the race next year.

Many of the familiar faces in our pit and garage will return next season: Chris Mitchum, Operations Director, Iain Watt, Technical Director, Tim Keene, Performance Coordinator and Bill Keuler, Crew Chief, with more continuing in their current roles. »

The other Cadillac DPi-VR, the No. 5 driven this season by Filipe Albuquerque and Joao Barbosa, has yet to see its drivers formalized for 2019. The Portuguese duo pocketed a victory this year at Long Beach (Calilfornia), but did not score only 7th in the championship.
