Doug Fehan leaves Corvette

He will have left an indelible mark in the history of Corvette in motorsport. Doug Fehan, head of the American brand's competition division for 25 years, will soon leave his position.

After starting within GM Racing in 1988, Fehan joined Corvette Racing to take the helm in 1996 and begin one of the most glorious periods of the firm.

Thanks to the C5-R, launched in 1999 at Daytona (with a podium in GT2 to boot), Corvette Racing began a real raid in the different GT2 / GTLM / GTE categories.

14 Team titles, 13 Manufacturers' and Drivers' crowns and 113 victories later, the American team, with its diabolical C5-R, C6-R, C7-R cars and the new but initially controversial C8-R (which abandoned front-engine architecture), has forged its legend both in the United States and on the other side of the Atlantic with eight category victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

In addition to these Sarthe successes, the main feats of arms include 12 victories at the 12 Hours of Sebring, three at the 24 Hours of Daytona and eight at Petit Le Mans. Corvette Racing once again won the GTLM championship in IMSA this year, Antonio Garcia and Jordan Taylor notably being titled among the Drivers.

Corvette Racing will reveal Doug Fehan's replacement in due course, who can leave with a sense of accomplishment.
