One was champion of Formula 2 in 2022. The other was runner-up in the same championship the previous year. However, neither Felipe Drugovich nor Frederik Vesti have seen the doors of the Formula 1 to open up for all that.

Abandoned by the premier category of motorsport, the two drivers turned to theEndurance since last year. The Brazilian (24 years old) and the Dane (23 years old) have thus rubbed shoulders on the track in the European Le Mans Series, respectively at Vector Sport and COOL Racing. The two have also had the opportunity to discover the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but not in the same category, since the Auriverde had moved to Hypercar with Cadillac for the occasion.

It is with the American manufacturer that we find them this weekend to discover the 24 Hours of Daytona. Drugovich and Vesti will be at the wheel of the Cadillac n°31 of Action Express Racing alongside Jack Aitken and Earl Bamber.

« It takes some getting used to being four drivers with a limited number of laps, but I did some good laps and I feel very well prepared for my first race in GTP and my first race with Cadillac, which I'm really looking forward to., says Frederik Vesti, who took part in the Rookie Test of WEC late last year in Bahrain.

We've been working a lot on the car, going in different directions trying to explore different things before the race. I think we know we have a very solid base with the Action Express Racing Cadillac, and now we just need to refine it and get ready for the race. The conditions might be different than what we had this weekend, so there will be some adjustments to be made before the race, but that's the same for everyone. »

« The Cadillac car is a pleasure to drive, adds Drugovich. I think the track changes every time and there’s not a lot you can see or predict from this test. It’s just about doing our job and trying to get better. I think from a driving perspective, or at least from a driver’s perspective, it’s just about trying to enjoy the whole experience because it’s my first time. It’s a pleasure to drive here and drive the Cadillac with this team. »

The 24 2025 Hours of Daytona will start at 19:40 p.m. (French time) on Saturday.
