ELMS / ALMS – Rebellion present at Petit Le Mans

Rebellion Racing is going to have a particularly busy month of October. With the two tests of WEC contested two weeks apart (the 6 Hours of Fuji on October 14 and the 6 Hours of Shanghai on the 27th of the same month), the Swiss team decided to enter a Lola B12/60 Coupe-Toyota at Road Atlanta during the ALMS final and theELMS. The two chassis used in the WEC being reserved for the last two events of the Championship, a third prepared before the 6 Hours of Silverstone will be brought for Petit Le Mans. After taking fifth place last year, the reigning LMS champion team will field the same crew with Nicolas Cheers, Neel Jani and Andrea Belicchi to aim for victory in the general classification, taking advantage of the absence of Audi and Toyota.

Bart Hayden, Team Manager of Rebellion Racing, confirms that the Swiss team was motivated by the absence of Manufacturer teams, which allows them to aim for an overall victory against the LMP1s of the ALMS Championship. “It’s always a real pleasure to race in the USA. We are confident in our ability to be competitive at Petit Le Mans and we have the experience of the race held last year. Our goal is simple, we want to win the event in the general classification. We have won the LMP1 Private Teams Trophy in the last three WEC events, but this time we will fight for an overall victory, that is what motivates us in this prestigious event that is Petit Le Mans. As a private LMP1 team in the WEC, we are in the shadow of the factory teams and we suffer from a lack of visibility even when we win and collect as many points as possible, which does not correspond to the expectations of our partners. »
